Mass layoffs every day. Auto, transportation and housing industry in the toilet. All other private employer industries are barely growing. Restaurants were the biggest employer. How can that be with restaurants closing daily. The government figures employment by calling households. ADP does private payroll. They have a better picture at 143,000 jobs. Warren Buffet is selling massive amounts of stock. No one is going to escape the Fed’s choking of the economy. They only did a soft landing one time. It was in the 90’s and there wasn’t an inverted yield curve or the Sahm Rule enacted. I feel like we’re all in a big game of musical chairs and I’m listening for the music to stop

The tightening was too aggressive to begin with. The rate hikes have broken an already fragile economy that would have worked out the inflation in the free market. The Fed chose to spark inflation buy napalming the public with stimulus right when the global supply chain was broken and production of good and service basically did not exist during Covid. It was gasoline on the perfect firestorm. Then, instead of letting the inflation work itself out… we hiked rates thousands of times higher than they were in the most massive pounding the Fed has ever given an economy. They chose to break the inflation they created over the backs of the middle class. Now they’re providing a little relief and everyone is acting like it’s going to bring back Covid level inflation and end the world..... Anyone feeling the impact of these economic shifts should consider Crypto long-term trading strategies to protect their assets. I only contribute 5% to get full company match, that’s it. The 401K plan is designed for you to work until you are about dead. Also, the government does not have their hands on it yet either.
My wife and I live off of our 401K. We don't work. I recommend highly to everyone to build your 401K or Roth IRA's as an alternate revenue stream in retirement to your Social Security. An observation on 401K's is when it gets over 300K it starts to accelerate. When you get over 500K it can really accelerate as the stock market grows.

Unemployment figures are not showing up because if one spouse is employed even part time then the other spouse is off the benefits so he or she is not an unemployment statistic. Also spouses are working part time just a few hours each to stay off the benefits, again he or she is not an unemployment statistic.

I work in and industry that relies on a lot of outside labor for services. Labor is still VERY tight and we find ourselves struggling to find the services we need in a timely manner. Also, it's true that part time job numbers are going up but at least some of that number is Baby Boomers doing staged retirements by going to part time work before leaving the workforce completely. I will be cutting to part time after next year.
